Our 2024 sailing season lasted from May through November. After a few weeks of boat work in the marina in **Tahit** i, we made our first stop on the island of **Moorea** just 20 + miles away. Then we sailed east for two nights to the Tuamotu atolls spending time in **Toau** , **Fakarava** , and **Tikehau**. And then a two night sail with the spinnaker, back west to **Huahine** before returning to Moorea. A fun circle of different types of islands, mountainous or coconut palm sand motus. Before we left Tahiti, we got to experience the Tahiti Pro surfing contest with Kelly Slater competing at Teaphoo. Some say this is the biggest wave. We saw a local girl, Vahine Fierro, win and get qualified for the Olympics. Her home island was so proud that they covered her in flowers. The surfing event in the Olympics were closed to viewing so we were happy to see the Tahiti Pro qualifying competition. Some of our other highlights were socializing with other sailors in Fakarava and making our own fun with a dingy raft-up happy hour. Solitude in the beautiful islands of Tikehau and Toau, where we were the only boat, long beach walks and hammock time. And enjoying some land activities on Huahine with friends, the culture, and a little hiking. As always, Steve gets to play some music along the way with locals and new friends.
